Introduction to SQL Queries

This two-part class will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Friday, 1/25 and Friday, 2/1.

In this class, attendees will walk through the process of creating queries against a SQL database and discuss the purpose of each element of a SQL statement.* The class will cover the following topics:

• Installing SQL Server Management Studio
• Connecting to a database
• Creating a new Query
• SELECT
• FROM
• WHERE
• ORDER BY
• TOP X
• JOIN
• LEFT/RIGHT JOIN
• GROUP BY
• SUM, MAX, MIN

*Attendees must bring a laptop to follow along with the class in a hands-on fashion. During the class, attendees will install SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). To complete this task, attendees must have administrative privileges on their machine.
