Celebrating National Nonprofit Day

Happy National Nonprofit DayImagine it’s 4:45 PM on a Thursday.
Grace, the Executive Director of a growing Oklahoma nonprofit, is wrapping up her day when an email lands in her inbox.

A board member wants documentation for next week’s meeting.
A grantor needs supporting records for a funding review.
Her finance director has questions about audit preparation.
A donor is requesting historical giving information.
And someone just clicked on a suspicious email.
None of these issues are technically “IT problems.”
They’re trust problems.
They’re governance problems.
They’re stewardship problems.
And for nonprofit leaders across Oklahoma, they’re daily realities.
At amshot, we’ve learned that nonprofit organizations don’t invest in technology because they want more technology.
They invest in technology because they need confidence.
Confidence that donor information is protected.
Confidence that grant records can be found when needed.
Confidence that systems will keep running when staff and volunteers need them.
Confidence that auditors, funders, board members, and community partners will see an organization that is organized, secure, and responsible.
Confidence that the mission won’t be interrupted by preventable technology failures.

That’s why we’re proud to support nonprofit and foundation organizations throughout Oklahoma.

We help nonprofits strengthen cybersecurity, improve Microsoft 365 governance, protect donor and organizational information, support audit readiness efforts, and build technology roadmaps that give leadership and boards greater visibility and confidence. These priorities closely align with what nonprofit leaders identify as critical to stewardship, governance, donor trust, and organizational sustainability. As a Microsoft partner, we’re also passionate about helping nonprofits take advantage of the incredible resources available through Microsoft for Nonprofits.

Many organizations are eligible for grants and discounts that provide access to Microsoft 365, Azure cloud services, Dynamics 365, cybersecurity tools, collaboration platforms, and AI capabilities designed specifically to help nonprofits increase their impact while managing costs. Microsoft states that its nonprofit programs provide grants and discounts across Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and additional cloud solutions to help organizations operate more efficiently and securely.

We’re especially excited about what AI can do for nonprofits.

When built on a secure and well-governed Microsoft 365 environment, tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot can help teams spend less time searching for information, drafting communications, preparing reports, summarizing meetings, and managing administrative tasks, allowing staff to focus more time on the mission. Microsoft describes Copilot and Microsoft 365 as tools that can help nonprofits streamline work, improve collaboration, and automate processes through AI-powered capabilities.

There’s another piece of the conversation that often gets overlooked: compliance and accountability.
Whether an organization is managing donor information, preparing for an audit, satisfying cyber insurance requirements, maintaining board oversight, or handling state and federal grant funding, technology plays an increasingly important role in demonstrating responsible stewardship. Microsoft provides security, compliance, identity, and governance capabilities that can help nonprofits better organize and protect information, while helping leadership build confidence around operational and cybersecurity readiness.

Today, on National Nonprofit Day, we’re grateful for the organizations and leaders who serve our communities every day. Thank you to the Executive Directors, development teams, finance leaders, board members, volunteers, funders, and staff who work tirelessly to make Oklahoma stronger. Your mission matters. We’re honored to play a small role in helping protect it.
