exhibITion: Evolutions in Blue

amshot is pleased to host exhibITion: Evolutions in Blue, featuring artwork by OKC-based artist Laurel Payne, on Thursday, October 23, from 5pm to 8pm.

The opening is free to attend. In addition to viewing new artwork by Laurel Payne, guests can enjoy light hors-d’oeuvres, as well as wine and beer from local brewery Wells for those 21+. A suggested $5 wristband donation benefits our nonprofit partner, the Oklahoma Monarch Society. The Oklahoma Monarch Society will also receive 10 percent of art sales, with 90 percent of art sales going to the artist.

Laurel works primarily in watercolor, pen, and ink. She’s fascinated with the environment, human connections, and how experiences shape perception. She earned a double major in Studio Art and Art History from Oklahoma State University.

Of exhibITion: Evolutions in Blue, Laurel says, “The beauty of landscapes, flowers, and the human body inspire me. These subjects speak to me and often cause a feeling of restlessness—a compulsion to offer a visual interpretation of emotions towards a scene or object. I am captivated by the paradox of life, which is a mixture of purpose and unpredictability that I try to embrace with my process of combining planned and spontaneous layers.”
