exhibITion: Disruptions!

Amshot’s art opening, exhibITion: Disruptions!, will feature artwork by Michael Bendure, a Norman-based abstract expressionist painter exploring the intersections of color upon color and color upon texture.

The opening will take place at amshot, 1300 N Broadway Dr. in Oklahoma City, on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 5pm to 8pm.

ExhibITion: Disruptions! will benefit the Women’s Resource Center, a Norman nonprofit that provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking.

All wristband donations for food and drink and 10 percent of art sales benefit the Women’s Resource Center. Our brewery sponsor for the opening is Beer Is Good Brewing Company, a three-barrel, taproom-focused brewery on Main Street in historic downtown Norman.

Michael’s evolving, process-driven works are designed to inspire joy, energy, and life. His art has been featured at Norman’s Second Friday Art Walk, the Plaza District, Oklahoma City University’s Norick Art Center, and the Gaylord-Pickens Museum at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Of the show, he says, “ExhibITion: Disruptions! explores visual representations of physical interruptions, mental invaders, and atmospheric intruders, illustrated through colorful and textural landscapes. From technological hassles to supernatural visitations, to intellectual diversions, and more, this visually energetic collection of original paintings aims to celebrate, rather than condemn, such disturbances.”
