Every four months, our team highlights a member of the Oklahoma art community. The local Featured Artist assembles a gallery throughout amshot’s downtown office for visitors, clients, and employees alike to enjoy.

FEATURED LOCAL ARTIST:
Bryon Perdue Jr is a Native American mixed media artist out of Oklahoma City who creates nonrepresentational work based on his interests in science. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2013 with his BFA in Studio Art. He currently serves as the president of the nonprofit group Inclusion In Art, where he works to encourage and promote diversity in the Oklahoma visual arts community. Through his efforts with Inclusion In Art, he has curated exhibitions in spaces such as Oklahoma Contemporary and has participated as a mentor to emerging artists. In his individual pursuits, he has had projects funded by Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and received “Honorable Mention” in the national juried exhibition, First Nations Biennial 2018, at the Tubac Center of the Arts in Arizona.
“I create work that investigates relationships between layers of spontaneous material application, spontaneous pattern building, and definitive linear elements. These layers are created using traditional drawing materials such as India ink, chalk pastel, marker, and paper, but are applied in non-traditional ways with materials like Polycrylic. I draw inspiration from our growing understanding of the subatomic systems and mechanics involved in creating and maintaining our universe. It seems so absurd to me that billions upon billions of systems can be simultaneously cooperating in order to create our perceivable reality. With the vast and various types of relationships that can be established, I choose to create imagery that could represent any possible outcome.”
Please join us on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 4:30pm-8pm at amshot for the opening of Observation of Surface. Bryon’s artwork will be viewable during amshot’s normal business hours until mid-May.

As a local business, amshot’s core values challenge the office to empower our community, and local art plays an important role in the Oklahoma City community. At amshot, technology is our business tool and our creative outlet, so our team wanted to support local artists who also use their creative passion as a career.
For attendees, a local art gallery in OKC brings strangers together, inspires us to see the beauty in the world, and encourages even the busiest of us to stop and smell the roses. For the art community, they provide a venue to exhibit art, an opportunity to expand their network, and a platform to highlight artists.
With this in mind, amshot created exhibITion, an art exhibit to promote local artists, give back to the organizations that are making a difference in our backyard, and enjoy the company of fellow art-lovers. Here’s how we do it:
Scroll through our photos from past exhibITions, see if you’re in any event photos, and share them with your friends. Don’t forget to use our hashtag!
